| It
all begins in Europe where the stone originates. "Sometimes
I think it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack" says
Matt Dingman, President of Monarch Stone. The search covers the
gamut, from a renovation site in downtown London, to a 300-year-old
farm house in Provence. We look for only the best examples
of original stone, stone that has the right texture and character,
and most importantly, stone that is authentically old.
"We may purchase an entire truckload of old French Limestone
and end up finding only a dozen pieces that are suitable for reproduction,"
Dingman adds. Once selected, precise molds are made to assure
that they can be accurately reproduced in our factory in Southern
California. Using a unique manufacturing process and a special method
for blending colors, the final results make Monarch Stone virtually
indistinguishable from original stone. |
