Introduction
Yorkstone has long been considered the finest paving stone available in the world. Riven from the heart of the Yorkshire hills, this beautifully veined stone has a unique character. The word "riven" describes the method of lifting large slabs of rock from the quarry bed, but the word is now more commonly used to describe the veined patterning associated with all York paving.Masons would split the stone down to slabs only a few inches thick, yet the slabs still maintained their strength and integrity.
Our material is rich in textural qualities, and our colors have a warmth that enhances any application. With many dozens of sizes available, each bearing individual characteristics, you can have a look and feel of the original stone. The rigors of extreme climates will only weather the stone in a natural way.
Yorkstone can be instantly recognized by its rich colors, fine graining and distinctive riven pattern. Monarch Stone's York paving reproduces every detail faithfully and authentically.

Ordering Information
Yorkshire Flagstones are available in eleven different sizes. They look most authentic when laid in a random pattern. When planning small or irregular areas, it may be best to draw the area to scale in squared paper and draw a combination of slab sizes to suit that setting. For best effect, avoid long unbroken, jointing lines and having several flags of the same size next to each other.
See the Layout Planner and Installation Guide for information on installing product for your particular use. The Guide also includes a Layout Planner, Layout Wizard, and useful tips to make your project easier.
Color Selection
Yorkshire Flagstone is available in four standard colors: Bristol, Windsor, Adagio and Roma. All colors are generally in stock and available for immediate shipment.
The colors shown on the color chart may vary depending on the type of computer you are using. It is best to look at the actual product at your local authorized dealer. Custom colors are available for an additional charge.
